02-14-14 Heat @ Warriors

Last Wednesday's thrilling Heat victory versus the Warriors in the second night of a back to back was a great way to close out the first part of the season; as the Heat's "Big Three" got set  for All-Star weekend in New Orleans.

Dwyane Wade's last minute scratch in the starting lineup due to foot soreness
(later known to be a case of drop foot) was an usually way to start this much anticipated matchup.
Wade's health this season has lead to many questions as he has missed 15 of the 51 games the Heat have played this season, due to various ailments as well as the Heat's maintenance program for his troublesome knees.
Some of the folks in the media world surrounding the Nba believe that Wade's absence throughout the season and the fluctuating lineups for the Heat have hindered them from owning the best record in the East.
Many writers that follow the Miami Heat believe that Wade's health status in late April, the conditioning and health of 7 foot Greg Oden are the keys to success for the Heat in the playoffs in search of the three-peat.

It's time to get into the nitty-gritty of this game between the visiting
back-to-back champion Miami Heat and the talented Golden State Warriors.
The game was fairly close between these two teams in the opening minutes of the 1st period as they were tied 10-10
With 7:04 left in the quarter.

The Miami Heat fueled by 11 points on 4-7 shooting from Lebron, shot 55% in the 1st quarter extending their lead to eight points 28-20 at the end of the period .After a Norris Cole and 1 with 4:10 remaining in the first half the Heat extended their largest lead of the game to 14 points 48-34.
Wade's absence allowed the Heat two go deeper into their roster; as Michael Beasley added key minutes from the bench throughout the game. In the second quarter Beasley helped expand the Heat lead over the Warriors; as he scored 10 points on 5-7 shooting. Lebron James and Norris Cole combined to score 12 points on 4-7 shooting in the second period (7 points by Cole and 5 points for Lebron) as well.
Going into halftime the Heat lead was eleven points 57-46. Miami increased their lead to 21 points 75-54 at the 7:42 minute mark of the third quarter .The Warriors roared back into game as they closed the quarter on a 28-9 run, to cut the Heat lead to two points 84-82.
With 6:14 left in the 4th quarter the Heat lead increased to nine points 101-92.The Warriors quickly responded with a 8-0 run to come within one point of 101-100.With 47.7 seconds left in the game the Warriors tied the game at 107-107 after a Stephen Curry step-back jumper.
In the next possession after getting fouled as he drove to the rim, Lebron made one out of the two free throws to go give the Heat a one point lead 108-107. Following Lebron’s trip to the free throw strip, Stephen Curry connected on an and 1 runner to give the Warriors a 110-108 lead with 14.6 seconds to play. On the next Heat possession, down by two points, Lebron dribbled the ball down the court as the time ticked away, pulling up for a well contested three pointer, sinking the game-winning shot to give the Heat a one point lead 111-110 with 0.2 seconds to play. Of course Lebron knocking down the win or lose three-pointer to come away with last second victory was the most important and thrilling play of the game. Despite the fact that the shot by Lebron lead to a victory for the Heat, it helped make the narrative of the dual for Mvp between Lebron vs. Durant even more interesting.
