The Heat came out slow again in Thurdays 5 point victory 102-97 over the Clippers.It seems to me that Miami has a lack of urgency to start games.This championship team for the longest time has had the ability to turn up on defense
during close games. A lot of people have said that this Heat team has an off and on switch that they can turn on when it's most needed. Miami found themselves down 8 points 2-10 with 9:18 in the 1st quarter.The Heat were offensively efficient but had defensive troubles with the Clippers throughout the first half.Lebron James had 8 1st quarter points while Ray Allen dropped 6 points in the same quarter.The score was 28-31 after the 1st quarter. Dwyane Wade had a solid 14 point first half, while Lebron struggled in the second quarter.Miami was down 4 points 52-56 at halftime.Wade was tremendous throughout the entire game , Wade had scored 18 points by the third quarter mixing it up with drives to the basket and consistent made jumpers.The Heat finished the third quarter up 3 points 76-73. Wade continued to score with ease in the 4th quarter finishing the game with 29 points, 7 assists and 8 steals.Miami turned up their defense throughout the third quarter especialy late in the third.Good Heat defense and timely missed shots by the Clippers helped to close out the game for Miami earning the 102-97 victory.The Heat's defense only gave up 11 points to Chris Paul.Lebron finished with 18 points,5 rebounds and 6 assists.Both Ray Allen and Chris Bosh scored 12 points in the contest.The Miami Heat have scored 100+ in their first 6 games if the season.
