11-09-13 Heat vs Celtics

Miami came out great offensively in the 1st quarter playing pretty decent defensively.The Heat formed a 6 point lead 31-25 by the end of the 1st.Bosh had 10 first quarter points while Lebron had 9 points.During the 2nd quarter the Heat continued to strive offensively but struggled on defensive.Miami has had major issues on defensive this year ranking 21st in the league in points allowed at 100.9 per game.The second quarter was well fought out offensively by both the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics.The Heat's lead disappeared as the Celtics earned a 1 point lead going into halftime. Again the third quarter was well fought by both squads with little defensive pressure.Miami regained their lead by two points 82-80 by the conclusion of the third quarter.The game continued to be close throughout the 4th.The largest lead was by the Heat 102-95 with 4:58 left in the game.With 2:06 remaining after a Crawford jumpshot the score was Miami 106 Boston 104. At 1:39 Lebron made a jumpshot giving Miami a 4 point lead 108-104.With 0:38 after a Bradley step back jumper the score was 108-106. When the clock ticked to 0:03 Lebron got fouled earning two free throws,after connecting on both free throws the score was 110-106.With 0:01 remaining Gerald Wallace brought the Celtics within 2 points 110-108 after a made layup by Wallace.With 0.6 of an second remaining Wade got fouled by Gerald Wallace. Wade missed his first free throw, giving the Celtics life in the game.I expected that Wade should've tried his best to make the next free throw,but instead he weirdly grabbed the ball shooting a quick free throw trying to waste the clock.Wade had great intentions to miss the free throw to waste the clock,but he needed to hit the rim to start the clock instead he hit the backboard without hitting the rim.After the second missed free throw the Celtics down two points called a quick timeout. With 0:06 left the Celtics drew up a play to win the game.Jeff Green ran toward the right corner,as the Celtics inbounded the ball.Lebron ran out to the right corner to constest Green in the right corner.Lebron gave a good contest to Green,but Green had just enough room to let out a three pointer. Green sinked the three pointer in Lebrons face as time expired , silencing Miami Heat fans in the American Airlines Arena. This lost opened Miami's eyes that their defense needs to improve.Lebron put the lost into perspective as he said "Jeff Green hitting that shot was huge, we needed that," James said. "We come out of that game with a win, it would be a whole different story today. But I think him making that shot just tells us, what the hell is going on with our season so far?"As Lebron weighed in into his thoughts of the Heat's defensive troubles following Monday's practice he sayed "We've been playing like s--- defensively."

"We're terrible on defense, and we have to change that," Chris Bosh also weighed into his thoughts on Miami's defense "Right now on defense, we're bad all the way around," Chris Bosh said. "We need to get better with our on-the-ball defense, with our help defense, points in the paint, rebounding, our principles, pick-and-roll, post line, all the way around. We're better than this. We know we we're better than this, and we have to put the effort into being better."
